CRANIAL NERVES




Cranial nerves

Ø  CN which is the smallest -- oTrochlear n.
Ø  CN which enters cerebrum directly - olfactory nerve
Ø  CN with longest intracranial (subarachnoid) course -- trochlear n
Ø  CN which emerges posterior to brain stem- trochlear nerve
Ø  CN with dorsal exit -- trochlear n.
Ø  CN which is the largest and thickest -- trigeminal n.
Ø  CN which is largest -- trigeminal nerve
Ø  CN with longest extracranial course --vagus n.
Ø  CN having longest intraosseous course -- facial nerve
Ø  CN with longest ( intradural )course - abducent nerve
Ø  CN passing through cavernous sinus -- abducent nerve
Ø  CN involved in raised intracranial tension -- abducent nerve

Ø  Abducent nerve has the longest intra-cranial INTRADURAL course
